Yukio Tamura, Academician

Yukio Tamura is a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Japanese Academy of Engineering, the Indian Academy of Engineering, and the European Academy of Sciences. He was re-elected as President of the International Wind Engineering Association for two consecutive terms from 2007-2015, served on the Executive Committee of the World Wind Energy Association from 2007-2015. He also initiated the establishment of the International Organization for the Prevention and Control of Strong Wind-related Disasters in 2009 in cooperation with the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, and has served as its president since then.
